Yummy Peanut Butter Balls


You might remember a couple of weeks ago I had a finger paint party at my house. After the fun of painting, we all came in to cool down and had a picnic on my kitchen floor. Some kids were at the table, some were in high chairs, and some were on the floor. There were lots of kids! Anyway, it was a bring your own food type of picnic. My friend Kara brought peanut butter balls for her kids. I had to have the recipe! They are so yummy!

Peanut Butter Balls

1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 cup honey
1 tsp vanila
1 cup peanut butter

Mix everything together and scoop into balls with a small ice cream scoop/melon baller. Refrigerate and then enjoy!

These were the ingredients I used.

  1. We must be thinking alike....I picked up some wheat germ today at the store thinking I hadn't had these in a while and they sounded good. I add mini chocolate chips in half of my recipe. You can also add rasins or cranberries.

  2. I often add chopped steamed carrots or spinach to my peanut butter balls to add extra nutrition for my vegetable hating toddler. She can't tell!

  3. Finally made these today... the boys were loving the super mini balls I gave them as I was making the bigger ones...so far it's a hit!! Let's see what they think tomorrow. Maybe next time I'll add some raisins or something else. How long do these last?

  4. I make all mine pretty tiny bite size, the picture might make them look big, but they are only about 3/4-1 inch in diameter. They seem to keep pretty well in the fridge, and I put some in the freezer too. I let them sit on the counter for a few minutes to thaw out a bit. Or if I take them somewhere as a snack, if you take them frozen they are perfect by snack time. The wheat germ can go bad quickly so, they do need to be stored in the fridge/freezer.

  5. Mine are about an inch in diameter, but they really really liked them when they were smaller, like M&M size or so. I have them in the fridge, but was wondering if I could freeze them!!! Thanks for the advance answer on that one!!
